My May review

So it is now June. The first month of winter. I had a horrible May to be honest. I injured my already stuffed up ankle, I lost a family member and it just rained for days. I also had a very good May. I got Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle, started cutting out my fabric for a shirt I am making, cut out the pattern for a dress I am making, I watched Captain America Civil War with my mates and read some amazing books. I also got some book marks from Elise Kova! If it wasn't for these things I would have been miserable all May. I am so glad that I got to do stuff that I liked and I am so glad that I had my friends and family to help me out.

The Siren ‖ Kiera Cass

Image
RATING: 5/5 STRUCTURE: 5/5 PLOT: 5/5 I think that this is an amazing book. Having read it in one day, I somehow managed to connect to Kahlen and her thought process. The way that Siren mythology has been incorporated into this book is amazing and I love it. Being the age I am (14) I find that Kiera Cass has written a book that I will never forget as I go through my teen years because it is something that I really enjoy. I loved the mythology, I loved Her and how she treats the Sirens as Her children. I love the relationship between Kahlen and Anikli because it is something that a lot of fictional characters don't seem to have. I will defiantly read it again one day but for now I will just let this amazing plot sit in my head.

Waters Wrath: Book 4 in the Air Awakens series

Image
Rating: 5/5 Structure: 5/5 Plot: 5/5 Leading up to Crystal Crowned, the last book in the series, you need to read Waters Wrath. Reading Waters Wrath will change your view on a select few characters but you will appreciate it so much. Elise wrote the book so well and it just pulls you in. It pulls you in so far you feel like you are actually part of the story. I know you think "What does she mean?" Well I mean that the characters feel like a family you have never had. That's how I feel. Vhalla is still so amazing and so is Aldrick and every other character in this book. I recommend this book because it is so amazing and heartfelt.

Percy Jackson series

This has to be my all time other favourite series other than Air Awakens, Harry Potter and the Iron Fey. Rick Riordan was the one that got me so interested in different types of  mythology at the young age of 8. I first read this series in primary and I still read it 6/7 years later. I started reading the series a year before it came out in cinemas and it took me a few years to re-read them about 10 times. The accuracy of the mythology is pretty good too. I take my mythology pretty seriously and I love the way Rick Riordan incorporated them into later series as well. My copies from the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series are so battered that I have to be careful not to rip a page off of one of them. Meanwhile, there is a Percy Jackson TV series that will be created which I will defiantly watch and there are two Percy Jackson movies. If you like adventure and all that read this series! Then read the follow up series Heroes of Olympus And The Kane Chronicles And t

Earths End - Third book in the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova *There may be spoiler*

Image
Just so you guys know, this one killed me ten times over! Even though it is amazing I died because of one of the characters being a complete and utter dick. Anyway... here is the synopsis for this book. A woman awoken in air, a soldier forged by fire, a weapon risen from blood. Vhalla Yarl has made it to the warfront in the North. Forged by blood and fire, she has steeled her heart for the final battle of the Solaris Empire’s conquest. The choices before Vhalla are no longer servitude or freedom, they are servitude or death. The stakes have never been higher as the Emperor maintains his iron grip on her fate, holding everything Vhalla still has left to lose in the balance. This is an amazing book as I have said before and if you enjoyed the previous books you will really enjoy this one except for the bits that breaks your heart.......... That bit is where Emperor Solaris freaking promises Aldrik to another woman when he is already promised to Vhalla and some people already

Crystal Crowned cover reveal and Giveaway

Image
As many of you know I am a huge fan of Elise Kova's Air Awakens series and she has revealed the final covers for her final book in the series, Crystal Crowned. The covers are stunning! The artist, Merilliza Chan, has done an amazing job creating these covers and Crystal Crowned tops them all. Here is the synopsis for Crystal Crowned.... Long live Solaris. One bloodthirsty ruler has been overthrown by another, casting the shadow of death over the Solaris Empire. Vhalla Yarl stands upon the stage of fate, prepared to do battle one final time. Fragile alliances will be tested and new bonds will be formed as the world is reshaped. She fights as the champion of peace, but when the night is darkest will she be able to pay the price of a new dawn? Crystal Crowned is released July 12, 2016 (It is already so close!) Here is the stunning front cover of the book! The woman is Vhalla Yarl who inspires me to be strong everyday and I hope she inspires you! And this is Al

Fire Falling-Book two in the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova

Image
BLURB FROM BOOK Soldier… Sorcerer… Savior… Who is Vhalla Yarl? Vhalla Yarl marches to war as property of the Solaris Empire. The Emperor counts on her to bring victory, the Senate counts on her death, and the only thing Vhalla can count on is the fight of her life. As she grapples with the ghosts of her past, new challenges in the present threaten to shatter the remnants of her fragile sanity. Will she maintain her humanity? Or will she truly become the Empire’s monster? Fire Falling is actually better then Air Awakens in my opinion because there is actually more of my personal favourite ship in the series and the name for that ship is Vhaldrik (pronounced Val-drik) and it also has more magic fighting and other styles incorporated into it as well. As Vhalla marches into war she gets closer with the Crown Prince Aldrik and it is just amazing in terms of how the relationship is written. When the cover was released everyone was surprised with it because it s

Air Awakens-Book 1 in the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova

Image
BLURB FROM BOOK: A Library Apprentice, a Sorcerer Prince, and an Unbreakable Magic Bond… The Solaris Empire is one conquest away from uniting the continent, and the rare elemental magic sleeping in seventeen-year-old library apprentice Vhalla Yarl could shift the tides of war. Vhalla has always been taught to fear the Tower of Sorcerers, a mysterious magic society, and has been happy in her quiet world of books. But after she unknowingly saves the life of one of the most powerful sorcerers of them all—the Crown Prince Aldrik—she finds herself enticed into his world. Now she must decide her future: Embrace her sorcery and leave the life she’s known, or eradicate her magic and remain as she’s always been. And with powerful forces lurking in the shadows, Vhalla’s indecision could cost her more than she ever imagined. This is a brilliant book that I would recommend to any to try and get others into the series. Elise

Iron Fey and The forgotten series by Julie Kagawa

Image
The Iron Fey series is probably one of my favourite series to read on a constant basis. It includes magic, love, loss, tragedy and action all packed into one. It follows Meghan Chase who goes to save her brother who was kidnapped by the Iron King, a new breed of Faerie. She travels into the Never never with Puck (Yes, the famous court jester of King Oberon) and encounters the Winter Prince, Ash.  As the book carry's on a friendship starts to form between Ash and Meghan. In the end, Meghan goes with Ash to the winter court because of a deal she made. As the series continues it follows Meghan, Ash, Puck and Grimilkin (A Faerie cat) fighting the never ending battle between the Seelie and Unseelie courts against the Iron Court. In the series following this one it follows Ethan Chase, Meghans brother, fighting the battle against the forgotten, a race of fey that are fading from existence. Thanks, Michaela. P.S. Sorry for taking two years to update this blog! Have a good re
